Travelling is a great way to see the world and meet new people. It is our duty to know the basics of travel etiquette in order to ensure that your trip is a success. Following are a few guidelines to keep in mind when travelling or visiting other countries.

1.) You're a Visitor

Tourists should be treated as guests, and you should treat them as your hosts when greeting them. In the bus or train, don't expect them to make room for you. Keep in mind that You do not reside in this location. Respect the area, its culture, and the locals. Being on vacation means being nice to them at all times. Behave like a guest and don't try to interfere with their personal space or duties.

2.) Learn as much as you can about the place you are visiting

When it comes to learning and preparing, there's a lot to be done. It is important to familiarize yourself with the customs, history, and background of the country you are visiting. More knowledge about the country and its visitors will reduce your chances of encountering trouble. Become familiar with their handshakes and greeting gestures. You can also learn a little bit about their language. If you are familiar with all of this, as well as their language, you will be able to communicate effectively with them.

4.) Respect the Dining Etiquette

Exploring a new culture includes trying new cuisine. Either the food will be interesting to you, or you won't care for its taste. It's important to keep in mind that the dish is a local specialty. Be sure to do some research on tipping and eating etiquette before you go to any restaurant. Being prepared is always a good idea.

5.) Don't forget to dress appropriately

While on vacation, you're free to dress however you want. In some countries, there are certain ways to dress. You'll save yourself time and frustration when packing if you know this before you leave. It also shows good travel etiquette. Be respectful and remove your shoes at certain locations.

6.) Bargaining should only be done when it makes sense

In markets around the world, bargaining is common. While bargaining is common in some countries, it has become disrespectful and embarrassing in others. You should never try to haggle in some stores or traditional art stores. Tourists should be aware that prices have not changed. Never try to haggle with people whose income is solely dependent on what tourists buy. If you're unsure of how much to pay, ask your hotel or a local.

7.) Please, be a decent human being

In conclusion, The locals and the country will appreciate your efforts. Locals are your hosts, not your guests. This trick works well when you've made a mistake and need to apologize.
